Kevan’s back! I posted a haircut of his I did while back that was sort of a classic fade on the sides and longer on top that I slicked back. This is a nice change and a little more streamlined without being too drastic.
New video!!! Here I chop off Ruchi’s hair so she can donate it and at the same time give her a fresh new cut for summer.
Here’s a few shots from the J. Mandel fashion show I styled hair for with Kerastase. The show was put on for a City of Hope luncheon at The Plaza Hotel.

Kerastase, check. Chilled rose’, check. All set up to chop off Ruchi’s hair. Now all I need is Ruchi! Keep an eye out for the video. Happy Mother’s Day! xG

Darby came over to check out my new place and have a glass of wine AND of course get a haircut. Here I give her a very layered haircut that will enhance her natural wave and make it a breeze to style. Used some Oribe Creme for Style to soften her wave and keep the look natural, not frizzy.
Was having dinner at Roebling Tea Room the other night and this girl sat down next to my table. I had to stop and ask to take her photo. This cut is still one of my favorites. Coincidentally she’s also a hairstylist.
I didn’t style the hair for the new Sleigh Bells video. However I did select the blonde wig and trim it to match Alexis Krauss’ jet black ‘do’. We had to run around to three different wig shops in the city before finding the right blonde hue and length. Then Alexis came into the salon so I could fit it on her to make sure it would work. I had her keep it on while I trimmed it to make sure it looked right. I didn’t see the finished product until the video came out. I guess I can add wig master to my resume!
Here’s a couple before and afters from my recent video post. It’s nothing drastic. Christina is growing out her hair but wanted some sort of change. All I did was bring up her layers and it really helped with the shape and enhanced her natural wave.
I stopped by my friend Christina’s apartment the other night for dinner and a haircut. Since I already had my camera on me I decided, last minute, it might make for a good video. Products used were Oribe Gel Serum on the hair when damp and Oribe Dry Spray to finish.
Here’s a follow up post from December. Lindsey just went from platinum to red by one of the colorist at the salon. I also wanted to post these to show the haircut curled. I used a 3/4” curling iron, and just ran my fingers through it to soften the tight curl. It’s a pretty cool contrast from what she had a month ago.
